How far in advance should I book a room?
It is advisable to book as far as a month in advance if possible. We can make bookings close to the time storage is required, but often we have limited availability and therefore cannot guarantee we will have the right size available for you. Please contact our friendly staff to check availability.
How do I pay my account?
We have many different payment options. We can automatically deduct your credit card each month, you can pay over the phone or online with credit card, we accept cheques and EFTPOS, you can pay in cash at the centre or you can either deposit or transfer the amount into our account.
Do I pay rent weekly or monthly
Rentals are paid monthly in advance. If you move out with rental credits owing, we will refund these back to your credit card or by cheque.
Are my goods insured?
No. You must take out insurance at the centre if you want your goods to be covered by insurance. Rent A Space does not have insurance cover for your goods stored in the facility. Insurance is from as little as $2 per month and can be arranged at the time of move in.
Can you accept deliveries on my behalf?
Yes! We can sign and accept deliveries on behalf of you or your company. We can also hold goods awaiting collection from couriers for your convenience.
How do I get my goods into storage?
We have a FREE TRUCK AND DRIVER offer, where we supply the truck and driver to come to your premises for you and your friends to load and unload. We also have FREE trailers at most of our centres that you can use throughout the duration of your time storing with us, this trailer may be used on moving out of Rent A Space. Please call your centre to book the trailer.
Can I access my unit out of office hours?
Most of our centres have after hours units available. This gives you access to your unit between 6am and 9pm.
Are my goods safe and secure if they are accessible out of office hours?
Each unit is individually alarmed for your security and each customer in this area has their own unique code to give them access to the after hours area. Each entry and exit is recorded and all areas are under security surveillance.
Do you have a key to my unit?
You put your own lock on the unit which ensures only you have access to the unit. You can bring your own lock or purchase one from the office when moving into your room.
What is the difference between an indoor centre and an outdoor centre?
Indoor centres are completely enclosed facilities and outdoor centres are accessible by car. This means you can park your car alongside your unit or the hoist.
How long can I leave my goods in storage?
We own all of our centres so you can be assured that your goods are safe in the long term and you won’t be inconvenienced by change of location or change of management.
Can I get packaging supplies from Rent A Space?
Yes. We sell a number of different sized boxes, bubblewrap, packing paper, packing tape, mattress and lounge protectors. We offer a 15% discount on all merchandise when you reserve a room with us.
Do I sign a contract?
Yes, you sign a contract for the first month of storage. After the first month, we continue month by month until you give us 14 days notice that you will be vacating the space.
